Buyer Beware:

Buyer Beware: Be sure to ask if they have a repetitive behavior clause buried in your prospective policy! Our new dog had two claims in 6 weeks for swallowing things he shouldn’t eat. Now I was told they will never cover this issue again because he had two claims for the same thing within 18 months. I am in the process of switching to another company that understands Siberian Huskies better and does NOT have that clause in their policy. #AVOIDPETSBEST #BUYERBEWARE

I had Pets Best for many years for both…

I had Pets Best for many years for both my cats. As soon as I filed a claim for One of my sick cats, who did not make it, my rates for the remaining cat skyrocketed. I’m talking going from under one hundred dollars a month for 2 cats, to 179.00 a month for one cat. I found a new insurance at half the cost for the same dollar amount coverage. I will say they pay out the reimbursement quite fast. Had I only had one cat, this would have worked for me, but I can only assume my rate doubled for having so many claims on my cat that didn’t make it. If you have one pet this may work for you but if you start filing claims, lookout.

Monthly Cost

$6 and up, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible. Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states). Two optional Wellness plans to cover routine care. 24/7 Pet Helpline, powered by whiskerDocs is included on all policies. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill. Reimbursements are sent directly to CareCredit credit card when chosen as your default reimbursement method. Choose to have your eligible claim payment reimbursed directly back to your CareCredit card.

Payout Limits

$5000 -Unlimited annual limit, depending on your chosen plan. Unlimited lifetime limits.

Deductible

$50 – $1,000 annually.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 7 weeks old to enroll. Pets Best does not restrict coverage or availability for older pets.

Waiting Period

A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date. Get a quote for specific information on waiting periods in your state.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Elective and preventive procedures are not covered.
