Scam w/ Rules Made Up On The Spot

Complete scam with ever changing rules all for the purpose of making sure that you can never seem to quite get what you thought you paid for. Decisions not to pay you take 1-2 days, appeals to be reimbursed for very clearly covered services and/or blatant lies by the staff to try to justify non-payment take 60days++. By far one of the worst insurers I’ve had the displeasure of dealing with. EDIT: apropos auto-reply from brand just reminded me to also add not to rely on their customer service. Every interaction is a multi-hour waste of time where they can’t find files, contradict past agents, or just generally call you a liar until presented with proof they can no longer dance around. No thanks, not doing that again — just looking for a new insurer. Thanks for the useless / impersonal / CYA auto-reply though… completely on brand.

Literally worse than human insurance

Literally worse than human insurance. I took my cat to the emergency vet in the day my waiting period was up and they stated they won’t reimburse me due to his condition being “preexisting”. They gave me some excuse that the stomach bug was in his stomach before I took him in so they won’t help pay a nearly $800 bill. I spent $1400 out of pocket and even after my $250 deductible was hit, they only reimbursed me $200. Do NOT get this crappy insurance.

Great experience

While the claim process took a little more time than expected, but they kept up in the loop notifying us things were taking longer than normal. They were thorough and provided detailed explanation of the claim. Better explanation that I could have imagined. Really appreciated the communication and the entire process was simple from our end.

Great Experience

Our two year old dog has had multiple injuries and required surgery, emergency room visits, and follow-up care. Thanks to Pets Best, we have saved an incredible amount of money and I would highly recommend this company. The claim process was extremely easy and fast.

I have always been skeptical of…

I have always been skeptical of insurance policies in general, but pets best actually did pay out! I think it's the only insurance company that does what it promised to. Now I am going to tell all my friends with pets about it.

Monthly Cost

$6 and up, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible. Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states). Two optional Wellness plans to cover routine care. 24/7 Pet Helpline, powered by whiskerDocs is included on all policies. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill. Reimbursements are sent directly to CareCredit credit card when chosen as your default reimbursement method. Choose to have your eligible claim payment reimbursed directly back to your CareCredit card.

Payout Limits

$5000 -Unlimited annual limit, depending on your chosen plan. Unlimited lifetime limits.

Deductible

$50 – $1,000 annually.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 7 weeks old to enroll. Pets Best does not restrict coverage or availability for older pets.

Waiting Period

A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date. Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Elective and preventive procedures are not covered.
