I have had a wonderful experience with…

I have had a wonderful experience with Pets Best. My Labrador has had TWO TPLO surgeries this year. Two major surgeries and I had zero problems being reimbursed. In both cases I was reimbursed within a couple of weeks. Can’t recommend Pets Best enough.

Refusal to accept veterinarian letter…

Refusal to accept veterinarian letter that my dog is mixed breed though that was proof they asked for. OMG. They replied to this post by telling me to call their customer service # like I haven't already spent fruitless hours talking to them with no help. Then today I get an email to dear pet parent asking for my name and policy #. As if this is a brand new issue with a brand new customer. I really see no alternative at this point other than to file a complaint with the Virginia insurance commission

Downhill experience! App glitches

Raised our rate, aren’t covering vaccines or basic care like they did the first year. Things they aren’t covering isn’t going toward the deductible either. Processing claims takes forever and they do it out of order (maybe so they don’t have to reimburse you??) Looking for another insurance provider for our pet. Also the app is awful and glitches constantly. I can’t see our information at all now via the main screen. (Not even our dog’s name.)

I have been with Pets Best for approx 1.5 years

I have been with Pets Best for approx. 1 1/2 years insuring 1 dog. We rescued a 9 year old Papillon and added the dog to the policy. We did receive some medical records from the rescue group which contained, vaccinations, blood work, examinations, surgery for teeth and spaying and I had my vet's exam for the dog. These records were uploaded. I was concerned about future claims being denied for lack of complete medical records so I called customer service for clarification. The response was less than reassuring, they would have to wait to see a claim and then evaluate. While I can understand this answer somewhat, I said it is difficult for a pet owner to continue to pay premiums for perhaps years and then be denied a claim for lack of medical records. I would like Pets Best to clarify their policy provisions for rescue dogs. "Other than the canned response we have to wait to see a claim"

Monthly Cost

$6 and up, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible. Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states). Two optional Wellness plans to cover routine care. 24/7 Pet Helpline, powered by whiskerDocs is included on all policies. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill. Reimbursements are sent directly to CareCredit credit card when chosen as your default reimbursement method. Choose to have your eligible claim payment reimbursed directly back to your CareCredit card.

Payout Limits

$5000 -Unlimited annual limit, depending on your chosen plan. Unlimited lifetime limits.

Deductible

$50 – $1,000 annually.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 7 weeks old to enroll. Pets Best does not restrict coverage or availability for older pets.

Waiting Period

A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date. Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Elective and preventive procedures are not covered.
