Excellent Service!

Pets Best helped me through a difficult time when my kitty was diagnosed with FIP. They processed claims promptly and reimbursed me for 90% of $10K in vet costs for treatment. I am grateful to them for helping me and Pacino who is now cured!

Very slow in reimbursement

Very slow in reimbursement, especially with my dog's therapy sessions - requiring additional back up information when my dog has the same monthly therapy package every month. I am still waiting for benefits from months ago. You should note that I buy meds from cheaper sources than the vet. Doesn't that deserve some gratefulness. You pay less because I shop around. This has been going on for at least 7 months

ISSUES WITH COMPANY, REPS AND PAYMENTS

BEWARE!!! STAY AWAY!!! I signed into my account to make a payment and came to realized that I had a pass due from Dec and then another one hit on Jan 6th 2026 called and spoke with a rep don't remember her name but she was going to take one payment and instructed me to pay the remainder before the policy cancelled on the 19th of Jan which in fine but then I asked for a manager about getting out of default because they required the full amount of almost $600 to be paid in full by the 19th which didn't sound right. I was connected to Account manager Donna which was rude, insensitive, and was laughing at me. I was then transferred to another account manager Lisa which I explained about what happen with the previous manager and I told her I wanted to make half the payment and pay the rest before the policy cancelled she told me that I can't make a partial payment on the account so I said I want to pay using 2 cards and she told me she can't take 2 card. they force you to pay the premium and then force you to use one card to avoid fees for processing. If you have a new Puppy, kitty, or other animals that you want insurance shop around and stay far away from this company.

Financial Support when you need it

My overall experience has been positive. My claims have been paid timely. There was a period of a few months where PetsBest was updating software and it did seem the claims took about a month to process. When my claim has been denied I followed up with needed information (due to a newly adopted pet) and then claim was processed. I did a TPLO surgery on one of my dogs and was very please at the processing time and reimbursement. I have one pet on maintenance medication and have had no issues with claims being processed. I went 2 years having no need to process claims and then this last year we have had several needs and I have grateful to have this for my 3 dogs so I can make quality of life decision without having to heavily weigh in cost as I know after deductible I'll start to receive reimbursement. The process was easy

The process was easy. Just upload and submit. Because I didn't opt for vet visits they denied the consultation in the ER which was the vet going over the results from the visit in the emergency center. As part of the appointment it should be covered.

Monthly Cost

$6 and up, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible. Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states). Two optional Wellness plans to cover routine care. 24/7 Pet Helpline, powered by whiskerDocs is included on all policies. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill. Reimbursements are sent directly to CareCredit credit card when chosen as your default reimbursement method. Choose to have your eligible claim payment reimbursed directly back to your CareCredit card.

Payout Limits

$5000 -Unlimited annual limit, depending on your chosen plan. Unlimited lifetime limits.

Deductible

$50 – $1,000 annually.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 7 weeks old to enroll. Pets Best does not restrict coverage or availability for older pets.

Waiting Period

A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date. Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Elective and preventive procedures are not covered.
