How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Banfield Pet Hospital

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

From the front desk reception to the Vet techs to DR A. This is the most amazing team of people to take care of our animals. I had to put my Penny down 2 weeks ago and they were so kind and gentle with me and my Penny. Penny loved everyone there and so do I. I recommend this hospital to everyone . I would drop my Penny off there while I had to go to work and Dr A would always call me and communicate any issues. I will say it again the staff here that I listed are amazing and Penny loved all of them as well. My Penny got the best care from all listed above. Amazing people work at this Banfield Hospital.in Abingdon Debbie Jubb

The doctor, tech, and front staff took excellent care of my baby. They listened, and even though he wasn’t exhibiting the symptoms when I brought him in, they conducted a thorough physical examination. They uncovered the cause of his symptoms, and we’re on the path to good health. The hospital was very clean and the staff was kind. The visit went so well that I transferred my little guy to the White Marsh location. I’m very grateful for their care!

Please avoid this location and Dr. Mike. Did not listen or care and their handling and management is very horrendous. Physically manipulating my puppy, doing exams that cause him to cry out in discomfort and not allowing treats to create a positive experience for vet visits. They push for unnecessary testing for a diagnosis that didn't correlate with symptoms presented. Which has led to them charging over $700 of unnecessary testing when the medication he needed that we requested when we first got there was only $30 I cannot stress enough please if you care about your animal do not bring them here!! Cant wait to email you Banfield!

My Dane had an appt for seizures so we can get him on a proper medication etc. well we went in, got on the scale and just as he turned to step off I told Kennedy “he’s having a seizure” she immediately went and told the staff, they ran out helped me “control” the seizure. Kennedy jumped over that counter like Wonder Woman handed a syringe to another person and stuck my boy. It happened so fast and the team/vet was on top of it!! Did about 80% of the exam in the lobby because of the seizure he had. Then we moved into a room and were able to finish the exam appropriately. The team there loves my boys and treats both of my Great Danes great that my boys love coming to the vet…..sometimes.
