Slow processing and no explanation for process

They took 4 full weeks to process my first claim. When I got my "explanation of benefits" - nothing was explained. I have no idea if anything was applied to my deductible or not. For it taking 4 weeks, I expected much more information for the first claim.

Extremely slow in processing claims

Extremely slow in processing claims. Also very high priced premiums, The last couple of years have seen a drastic decline in customer service.

I am still waiting on reimbursement

I am still waiting on reimbursement. I am very disappointed with the fact that I was originally told it would be processed quickly and that is not the case. I did my part with direct deposit emailed the claim still waiting.i have called every other day and I get the run around

I received multiple calls and emails…

I received multiple calls and emails asking for information already submitted including old files (90+ pages) that were faxed three times. While this is one of the only PI companies that accepts senior animals, their internal communications network needs work. It should only take one call and/or one email and one fax, not multiples of each for the same info.

So far my experience with Pets Best has been good.

So far my experience with Pets Best Health Insurance has been very good. I have 3 golden retrievers insured and had one of those "crappy" years that it just seemed like it was one thing after another. Once my deductible was met, Pets Best started paying out. I haven't received my check yet, I'd recommend signing up for their direct deposit option (I need to do that) to speed up the process. The only issue I've encountered so far is getting notices that my vet hadn't responded to messages asking for records, although there are notes on my pets records indicate that they were sent. I reached out to my vet, got the records myself and sent them and voila, we were good to go.

Monthly Cost

$6 and up, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible. Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states). Two optional Wellness plans to cover routine care. 24/7 Pet Helpline, powered by whiskerDocs is included on all policies. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill. Reimbursements are sent directly to CareCredit credit card when chosen as your default reimbursement method. Choose to have your eligible claim payment reimbursed directly back to your CareCredit card.

Payout Limits

$5000 -Unlimited annual limit, depending on your chosen plan. Unlimited lifetime limits.

Deductible

$50 – $1,000 annually.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 7 weeks old to enroll. Pets Best does not restrict coverage or availability for older pets.

Waiting Period

A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date. Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Elective and preventive procedures are not covered.
