Pets Best | Pet Insurance Review

I’m disappointed at the way my submitted claims have been handled by this company. I submitted a covered wellness claim for a dental cleaning almost two weeks ago and instead on working on that larger return of $150 dollars first, they decided to work on a smaller claim of $12.50 submitted after the first claim. Are they waiting to get $150 worth in premium payments from me first? They should have worked on the first claim. ** UPDATE: I found out that my claim for a wellness dental cleaning was processed as an “undiagnosed illness-acute.” When I asked why is a dental cleaning considered an “undiagnosed illness”? They said there was an extraction. Meaning they’ll deny the claim because there was one extraction. That extraction will be considered a pre-existing condition, which means they’ll deny my claim. Do you see how they get you?! These are the little clauses that are not mentioned in their policy when people are signing up for insurance. People beware!!! This company is notorious for denying claims by using the “pre-existing” excuse. Stay away from PetsBest! I canceled before they take any more money from me! **RESPONSE: The extraction was NOT illness related; it was a broken tooth I asked the vet to extract while a routine cleaning was being done. You cannot assume these things to determine payment on claims.

The customer service team helped me every step of the way. I called intially to make sure my coverage started for accidents. I couldn't believe I had to issue a claim within the first three weeks of policy. Although I was hold for over an hour twice to get my questions answered, it was a great phone conversation. Following week to understand how my claims were being handled, was also great conversation. I had to file three claims before the first one processed. All in all great experience so far, even though 10 claims in first month of policy was overwhelming. Your team is helping me through it.

We were able to get the best healthcare possible for Scotty because of the coverage we had through Pet’s Best. They paid all of our claims.
