I love Pets Best

I love Pets Best. The claims are processed on time and they live up to their word in regards to the reimbursements.

Would not recommend

I really wanted to like this company but they are extremely slow at processing claims and will have you on hold easily for over half an hour just to talk to someone on the phone. Their breakdown of a processed claim makes absolutely no sense, and they encourage you to call them if you have questions, yet they have you on hold so long that it turns the whole thing into a huge hassle. Their phone representatives are really nice though so I'll give them that. However when comparing the experiences to my other dog's insurance where you talk to someone in less than 5 minutes and claims are processed fast, i would not recommend Pets Best. Before this experience I recommended Pets Best to my brother who ended up insuring his dog with them, but hopefully he will have better experiences than I've had.

Extremely easy experience from start to finish

Everything is as easy as I expected when I brought my 12 week old puppy for his second round of vaccinations. I was not sure on what was covered so I sent in screenshots of the invoice from the vet and Pets Best looked it over and told me what was covered and what was not (with an explanation of why it wasn’t). Took about 2 weeks from the submission date to payout date. An extremely easy experience all around.

They need to hire more help.

Claim process is often take longer than it takes me to get my credit card bill. There are long waits when you call in. And the mobile app does not work very good on my iPhone 6.

bad customer service

Our dog came down with an eye condition that my vet felt was an auto immune disorder this was after we bought the insurance the insurance company requested the dogs medical records to ensure it was not pre-existing which I completely understand however my vet tried sending over the information twice by fax and showed me the fax confirmation pages and they kept continuing to claim they didn’t get it so my vet gave me the records I scanned and uploaded them to the claim and they still denied it saying they never got them very frustrating and when you try to call to get an answer you’re on at least a 45 minute wait no vets office that I am aware of can sit on the phone for 45 minutes trying to get through to somebody

Monthly Cost

$6 and up, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible. Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states). Two optional Wellness plans to cover routine care. 24/7 Pet Helpline, powered by whiskerDocs is included on all policies. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill. Reimbursements are sent directly to CareCredit credit card when chosen as your default reimbursement method. Choose to have your eligible claim payment reimbursed directly back to your CareCredit card.

Payout Limits

$5000 -Unlimited annual limit, depending on your chosen plan. Unlimited lifetime limits.

Deductible

$50 – $1,000 annually.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 7 weeks old to enroll. Pets Best does not restrict coverage or availability for older pets.

Waiting Period

A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date. Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Elective and preventive procedures are not covered.
