Horrible

Horrible! You can't reach a live person and they have caps on well medication and didn't cover an ACL tear which was diagnosed after the policy was in effect. It has been less than a year that we have this insurance and within a few months we felt we made a mistake.

I got reimbursed within a week & 1/2! No issues whatsoever. This is my first time getting pet insurance and I am very happy with my experience with pets best.

I thought my dog was dying.…Take all one star client reviews into GREAT consideration.

Service Date(s): 04/09/2021 - 04/13/2021 Before you sign up with this insurance company BEWARE, read all the 1 star client reviews. Horrible company, they WILL NOT COVER YOUR PET! You WILL wait 2 hours on hold, and they don’t care! Highly priced and outright crooks. I transferred from another after 5 years (big mistake) thinking I’m getting a better company and better coverage when in fact this company DOES NOT have the best interest of my pet! Denied all my claims. I thought my dog was dying, not eating lethargic, had X-rays done. It showed a dark looking mass near his pancreas, three days of torture and 1800.00 later for more testing, blood, ultrasound etc; they are now claiming “pre existing conditions” on my pet, when in fact there was NEVER anything of the sort! Let me make it clear that each time he went to any veterinarian anywhere we were, it was for a different reason. The fact that they can group all the visits together and claim a pre-existing condition is fraudulent. None of the symptoms were the same. None of the reasons I took him to the vet were for the same thing. This company IS NOT a good choice! If you love your pet PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS INSURANCE. You will be sorry! Extra money spent monthly which adds up to hundreds and thousands of dollars yearly that you will never be able to claim.

Always in high gear and on the run!

Our 2 1/2 year old rescue dog is always in high gear and not the most graceful canine. An accidental mis-step during her "zoomies" episode in the backyard had Gracie Bea taking a tumble, limping and unable to bear weight on her front leg over the weekend. We were able to get her veterinary care as soon as possible when the clinic opened. This included xrays of the injured area to determine the extent of the injury and medications for pain control and inflammation.

I would recommend this insurance to anyone looking to cover their pets. I have never had an issue making a claim.

Monthly Cost

$6 and up, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible. Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states). Two optional Wellness plans to cover routine care. 24/7 Pet Helpline, powered by whiskerDocs is included on all policies. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill. Reimbursements are sent directly to CareCredit credit card when chosen as your default reimbursement method. Choose to have your eligible claim payment reimbursed directly back to your CareCredit card.

Payout Limits

$5000 -Unlimited annual limit, depending on your chosen plan. Unlimited lifetime limits.

Deductible

$50 – $1,000 annually.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 7 weeks old to enroll. Pets Best does not restrict coverage or availability for older pets.

Waiting Period

A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date. Get a quote for specific information on waiting periods in your state.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Elective and preventive procedures are not covered.
