Impossible to Contact & Doesn't Cover Emergency Care
My dog had an emergency ruptured anal gland, with no medical history of ever even needing them expressed. They said this wasn't covered because it is routine care, even though it required an emergency vet visit and has never been part of routine care before. I've been trying to contact them to refute this or alternatively, cancel my policy, and they are IMPOSSIBLE to get in touch with. I've called them multiple times and after being on hold for 35 minutes, then 64 minutes, then 32 minutes, then 41 minutes, I gave up. It is impossible to get through to anyone to dispute a claim.

Food for thought
They're not terrible as far as coverage, but heaven forbid you have ANY questions. Getting a hold of someone is like striking gold. Please do your research prior to taking this insurance. Over 30 days to reimburse me, and multiple calls, each with more than 30 minutes of holding prior to talking to someone.

The claim process is very easy and we receive information as to the resolution. The timing took a little longer than expected, but they did notify us that they had received a large influx of claims and were doing their best to resolve.
Monthly Cost
$6 and up, depending on your chosen plan.
Coverage
Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible.
Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states).
Two optional Wellness plans to cover routine care.
24/7 Pet Helpline, powered by whiskerDocs is included on all policies.
The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.
Reimbursements are sent directly to CareCredit credit card when chosen as your default reimbursement method.
Choose to have your eligible claim payment reimbursed directly back to your CareCredit card.
Payout Limits
$5000 -Unlimited annual limit, depending on your chosen plan.
Unlimited lifetime limits.
Deductible
$50 – $1,000 annually.
Age Limits
Pet must be at least 7 weeks old to enroll.
Pets Best does not restrict coverage or availability for older pets.
Waiting Period
A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date. Get a quote for specific information on waiting periods in your state.
Exclusions
Pre-existing conditions are not covered.
Elective and preventive procedures are not covered.
