So far so good

So far, Pets Best has followed through on my claims. It's been about a year since I got it and they have informed me because my pets are a year older and my rates will go up. So I hope it doesn't go up alot.

Absolutely atrocious customer service. Claims not paid. Endless hold times with no one ever answering. Terrible experience. Avoid at all costs.

Slow to respond

I had to submit numerous claims for my pup. All were delayed, but Pets best let me know that about two weeks after. 1 said they needed more info which I provided, only to hear back 10 days later that they needed more info and requested the same info. I called, waited on hold for 50 mins, finally spoke to someone, so hopefully it gets taken care of.

I have a 11 years old Jack Russell

I have a 11 years old Jack Russell. Jack Russells are known to have intestinal problems so I started insurance immediately with Pets Best in 2010. I included the Wellness plan.It helped with his yearly checkups getting a portion of the money back. For the last 5 months my baby has been going through doctor visits medication for diarrhea allergies just a ton of symptoms.Ultra sound finding Cancer in stomach.My Vet said it was a continuing problem since December and thats why we did the Ultra sound. Everytime I submitted a claim I was advised it would take a few weeks for reimbursement. OK,I get that with Covid but I have put out over $1000.00 since this started and all claims came back saying they are single incidents and I am still paying my deductible of $500.00. I need an explanation, I spoke to a representative a month ago and she was kind,took my concerns but never got back to me. I pay 51.60 a month for This insurance. Multiple that by 12 and x11yrs(close to $7000.00).Got a first payback from The Ultrasound around $200.00.I paid $460.00,plus The blood tests alone are $129.00,and they will be reoccurring every 2 weeks,medications plus vet prescription food. I have a $2700. limit per incident. This is my 3rd request for a callback. I can't make a recommendation for Pets Best if you don't cover my expenses, now when I need it. Sincerely

Monthly Cost

$6 and up, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible. Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states). Two optional Wellness plans to cover routine care. 24/7 Pet Helpline, powered by whiskerDocs is included on all policies. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill. Reimbursements are sent directly to CareCredit credit card when chosen as your default reimbursement method. Choose to have your eligible claim payment reimbursed directly back to your CareCredit card.

Payout Limits

$5000 -Unlimited annual limit, depending on your chosen plan. Unlimited lifetime limits.

Deductible

$50 – $1,000 annually.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 7 weeks old to enroll. Pets Best does not restrict coverage or availability for older pets.

Waiting Period

A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date. Get a quote for specific information on waiting periods in your state.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Elective and preventive procedures are not covered.
