Extremely satisfied with the way our claims have been handled, quick turn around on reimbursement.

We have had Nationwide Pet insurance for over 2.5 years, insuring 2 Great Danes. Our 2.5 year old had to go to an ER Hospital about a month ago, it was very reassuring knowing that we could count on Nationwide to pay 90% of this cost, allowing us to give our very sick boy every chance to recover without worry as to how we would pay for his illness. Thank you Nationwide.

No longer recommend Nationwide

When I signed up for insurance for my dog, it was top of the line. Then Nationwide added a category and downgraded my coverage. I might have been contacted at the time, but I was having internet issues and never received anything in the regular mail. Now I have limits to coverage that makes it poor coverage for the price. I have been with Nationwide for over 8 years. I no longer feel like Nationwide cares about my dog.

Super fast claim processing

I’ve had Nationwide for 7 years, since my dog was a wee pup. They’ve been there through everything, and have always been quick and efficient in processing our claims. They have saved our butts on more than one occasion. I don’t know where we’d be without Nationwide. Thank you for your commitment to your clients.

We can always count on you

Nationwide is always there and the claims go through quickly. Our refunds from our vet visits are always paid and our wonderful dog is healthy. It's nice to know that even though we would never compromise our dog's health, we know that our costs will be minimal because Nationwide always pays.

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
