Pet insurance is indespensable!

Nationwide pet insurance has helped me keep my dog healthy. It allowed me to get the care for her that I may not have been able to afford without it. I have recommended it to others and they have thanked me for it.

Claims need constant follow up to be processed correctly.

Every claim I submit I need to call your company several times. Then follow up with the same paperwork that I had already faxed to VPI. This claim I had to call many times and the doctor resent his notes. I was told to have Veterinarian call he did. The Veterinarian spoke to someone at VPI. The VPI rep did not have clear understanding of Veterinary medicine. The VPI rep could not even read my coverage plan correctly. She gave my Veterinarian wrong info about the type o policy coverage I have. Since the people at VPI processing, the claims do not have Veterinary education. They can’t comprehend veterinary medicine terminology. They read and/or heard a couple of words and ASSUME THEY CAN PUT A DIAGNOSIS ON MY DOG. Your employees claim that Jonas has Inherited Cardiomyopathy. They were not able to correctly understand Jonas’ diagnosis. This really should be against the law for you to misdiagnosis. When you have incompetent uneducated people processing claims this happens. Someone with more education should be looking and processing veterinary medical claims Jonas DOES NOT have In Inherited dilated cardiomyopathy at this time. YOUR company has put false diagnosis on him. Jonas does have Arrhythmia s during his heart beats. That is NOT THE SAME illness AS Inherited Cardiomyopathy. It’s very frustrating working with your company

outrageous price increases

Each year you increase your prices , especially on older animals. This year however I have received a letter saying nationwide is requesting up to a 57% increase. That is outrageous! I’m sure senior animals and those with pre existing conditions are the ones you go after as they can’t get insurance elsewhere. That is a terrible thing to do and I would not recommend nationwide on this fact alone. As your pet ages it has health problems the health insurance you have paid into for years will then become unaffordable

Monthly Cost

Policies start at approximately $12 per month.

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
