Great when unexpected treatment arises.

I've had VPI (now Nationwide) for well over 20 years on all my dogs. Thankfully, because of insurance I am able to afford unexpected treatments over the years. Wouldn't be without Pet Insurance.

Amber was really great in answering all…

Amber was really great in answering all my questions. She was able to let me know I was on the right track with my thoughts about Mia's insurance plan. I am now able to make a sound decision on Mia's treatment. Also, Amber was very nice in wishing Mia well and to give extra ear scratches to Mia for her. That helps in making the call more personable to me and my Mia. I appreciate. Kudos to Amber!

The best decision that I made was to…

The best decision that I made was to get a Nationwide Pet Insurance policy for my 11 week old Bichon Poodle, Beejay, in 2008. Very sadly, Beejay passed away on 4/18/2023, just shy of his 15th birthday in May. Having a Nationwide Pet Insurance policy, throughout his life, made it possible for me to provide him with “thee” best Veterinarian medical care available including Veterinary Specialist which gave me peace of mind. Thank you Nationwide Pet Insurance team for helping me to provide Beejay with a munched loved, happy, healthy and long life.

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
