Insurance Policies in General and her Spay

The reason for a 7 & not a 10 is mainly the insurance issues I have had with all my dogs, including Paris. The spay was ok, except with VPI I didn't pay a deductible or only get 90% return on wellness. It was 100% up to maximum, there was never a time they didn't cover everything. On my other dogs, it has been a sheer nightmare. I have been with (VPI) since 2002 when I had a policy that was 4#'s. My Autumn (Service Dog) got caught in a catch 22. You took over from VPI and changed all the rules. The 1st part you had no coverage to speak of & that is what Autumn was caught under. Then your, creative way to get the better coverage you offered each yr, you had to change policies & anything that happened under other plan was considered a pre-existing condition. All pets, most especially Autumn should have been grandfathered up with each change. No one should have to change policies, they should be "upgrades". This has been an issue with all my pets. Luckily I had Merlin & Lacy under VPI policies. Even Paris got caught in a change. I was forced to take a $250 ded. when that is worthless. I have always had a $100. So I lost money big time her 1st year. She only had wellness checks. Never even met deductible. I have met it with a spay, but something else would have to happen for me to get any more benefit. I pray that doesn't happen because my Emergency Vet has killed 5 of my dogs. I can only (maybe) change one of my dogs next year. My vet is going to call on Autumn. I think that is petty that she was caught in the catch 22 when you didn't know what you were going to do or offer & she has been penalized all the way. She is a Service Dog too. That is sad. I have had probably 15 or more or (only 1 or 2) less with VPI & Nationwide since 2002. My daughter dropped you because she got a better deal through her vet. for a lot less money. I don't have that option. I only recommend you because I can't find anything better, with your current policy anywhere else. I am very sad and upset about the issues I have. I will recommend if asked. The rating is so high is because of the spay being "ok". I didn't look at reviews because I have here for so long. Reviews would not have helped me.

Easy to submit claim and fast processing

It's very easy to submit a claim, once I have the detailed receipt for the vet visit and Nationwide surprised me with the short turnaround in processing the claim. The only thing I would suggest is to make it easier to enter the clients bank information if they chose direct deposit, through the Nationwide site, instead of a separate text from Citibank.

Thanks!

I appreciate the ease of filing claims, having done it now a few times - its a breeze. Would be nice if the reimbursement was faster, but I got it before the credit card bill was due, so no real issues there.
