Thank you

Thank you, Nationwide! My dog had a small tumor on his lip and had to go into unexpected surgery - it was very scary! Thank god, he is fine - the tumor was benign but it made me feel more at ease knowing that Nationwide was covering more than half of this vet bill.

Dissapointed

I am disappointed with my first experience submitting a claim, and I have been meaning to reach out for further assistance, but have not had the time. I purchased the more in depth "My Pet Protection Wellness Plan" for several reasons but one of the major reasons was for coverage of Flea and Tick preventative medications. The pet insurance summary states on the first page under selected coverage, "flea and tick". However, when I submitted my claim for Sadie's Flea and Tick Medications it was denied with little to no explanation. Furthermore, it took 2 months for the claim to come back as denied. Furthermore, I was very disappointed in the length of time the plan sat in "underwriting." I purchased the plan the same day I picked up my puppy (April) expecting that it would go into effect immediately, as these are obvious canned plans that have already been "underwritten." That was not the case however, the plan did not start until June. The "Wellness Protection Plan" claims to cover the cost of a puppy's all initial shots. This is false advertising because NationWide purposefully made the plan "sit" in underwritting and did become effective until AFTER the puppy had all her shots. Overall- I feel that the plan and coverage has been incredibly misleading and I would and have highly cautioned friends and colleagues when considering purchasing this insurance. At this point in time based on my experiences, I do not feel it is worth the money or time. I would greatly appreciate a follow up conversation over the phone to further discuss the reimbursement of the flea and tick medications.

Rio update

Rio is back up to speed! Rio has finished his Service dog training and now is a certified service dog, he goes to work every Day to the courthouse with Kim, (she's a District Court Judge)! Rio takes his job seriously but during down times he loves to sleep on the couch in the office! We are so happy he pulled though his surgery and ALL stuffed toys are gone, we don't need that again with any of our six Labs.

Very satisfied with your service

Have been with company with our last dog since before Nationwide took over. Sadly our dog (Holly) past away in April from complications of Cushing desease. We had a ton of medical bills and Nationwide helped tremendously. We now have a 4 month old puppy (Heidi) and have insurance for her with your company and has really helped with her visits to the veterinarian for routine visits (shots etc.).

Monthly Cost

Policies start at approximately $12 per month.

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
