Thank You NationWide for my Dogs Allergy Medicine

This is hands down the best pet insurance to get. My dog has allergies to a lot of things. He needs his Apoquel everyday. His allergy pill. Nationwide has helped me pay for it every month. I love this insurance.

It has been a good year to have health insurance for my dog.

Insurance worked fine. It was a little confusing on why pre-op blood work wasn't covered. But overall it was fine.

Excellent Service

I submitted a claim for a hospitalization for my almost 6 month old puppy. I put in an incorrect email address for the vet (he had to see the emergency vet and not his regular vet, I put in the regular vet email). I called and spoke with a customer service representative. She was extremely helpful and seemed to genuinely care about my puppy. I even received an email the next day stating they hoped he was doing well. I have not received the EOB statement yet so I cannot speak to what they covered of the visit but I was pleasantly surprised by the level of service I received and the care she showed for my puppy.

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
