So Happy I have Nationwide Pet Insurance

I have never had an issue with Nationwide and even now that my dog had to have surgery to remove cancer from her thyroids and parathyroids. Nationwide has helped with the cost and I will always use them and recommend them to pet owners. Thank you Nationwide for caring for my dogs.

Lack of follow thru on additional information needed

I submitted my claim and was told that I would be receiving a request for additional information in the mail. I have yet to receive. when i followed up I was told you need all of her records from before she was even born. I only have current vet records - but why dont you ask for this when I signed up? I am concerned that the records I will get wont be enough and then what is the point of having insurance if nothing will be covered? I have 4 pets insured with you and I got my father to insure 2 more wtih you however this issue and lack of communication makes me reconsider if I pick the right provider. My vet recommends another company and doesnt give VPI a good review.

Happy so far with the coverage, but it takes WAY TOO LONG to process claims

Been very happy with the coverage so far, however the big negative I have is how long it takes to process the claims. They shouldn't take this long. I just dont see why or how.

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
