Nationwide is great!

Nationwide is a great pet insurance to have. They have a very organized system of getting the process started and processing claims. When I file reimbursement claims, I am always sent an email with the status and the claims are handled in a timely fashion! I have no complaints!

Glad to be covered

Love Nationwide pet insurance- however living in NY, especially on Long Island, vet bills are exorbitantly more expensive then most places. After a recent hospital stay for my dog, I was sad to find out my 4k vet bill was only reimbursed less than half of what it cost. I wish there were reviews or different caps on the policy based upon where you live. Or that the insurance worked more like human health insurance by negotiating fairer rates with hospitals.

Beneficial to have, convenient with linkage to the Vitusvet app

Happy with the claim check received on the first claim. Love the connection with the vitusvet app. It would be great to take this to the next level and get feedback on claim Information directly here instead of having to go to the nationwide site or have better linkage between the two. I was happy with the reimbursement received on my first claim. It would be great to have a little faster turnaround time on these though. In general pretty happy though.

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
