This insurance has been a life saver!

We were really worried about our Chessie, Finnegan. He started having terrible diarrhea and losing alot of weight very quickly. Needless to say our vet bills were mounting up but Nationwide kept paying thems and never once questioned us about his treatments. We have three dogs; Norman, Killian and Finnegan and I could not imagine how we would handle everything without having an insurance on our side that really understands what we feel for our pets. They are like our children and when they are sick, there is not enough we can do to make them feel better! We are so grateful for this insurance. I think they are the best out there!

Lengthy waiting time for reimbursements

I am thankful for Nationwide offering pet insurance and feel it has been extremely useful and beneficial. However, the length of time waiting for reimbursement is quite lengthy , and I wish they could be more efficient with it.

Have not received reimbursement

Got a notice saying the check was sent out. That was on November 30. It’s December 14, and I still have not received my check. I called and asked about it but no one was of much help.

Customer service

Des from customer care was amazing. Such a delight to talk to and resolved my issue quickly and effectively. Nationwide is simply a saving grace when you have such a trouble maker for a pet. Dexter is really thankful to have nationwide on his side (and so am I)

Can live in this

I've been using this insurance for several years and have been pleased. Only thing I have an issue with is that it takes very long to get reimbursed.

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
