I pay my premium on time, but it takes a long time to get reimbursed. Reimbursements are often not worth the premium I pay.

I have fairly young dogs and they don't get sick often. However, It's still good to have pet insurance because it helps off set some of the costs of veterinary care when my dogs get sick. However, Nationwide pet insurance takes a long time to process claims and the reimbursement is often very limited. I think they should reassess their processing time and increase their reimbursement rates to make it worth the premium I pay.

Covered Ziggy's teeth cleaning

The response to Ziggy's teeth cleaning claim was ridiculously fast. I was so happy that the insurance covered most of Ziggy's treatment, aside from my deductible portion, as he unexpectedly had broken several teeth on a bone at some point. He desperately needed a teeth cleaning and had to get several teeth pulled as to not cause further infection. I am so pleased with this pet insurance I will recommend it to everyone.

I love this coverage.

So nice to know it is here when we need it. Our new puppy has needed frequent visits for shots and checkups and you all are fast at turning around claims. Thank you!

I recommend Nationwide Pet Insurance to all my friends

It has been a difficult health year for my dog, but Nationwide has been there for me and made possibly difficult decisions easier.

Monthly Cost

Policies start at approximately $12 per month.

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
