Please review claims before sending an email asking if my dog is feeling better.

I have loved everything about Nationwide pet insurance except for the email I received today. Today I received an email asking how Sadie was doing and if she’s feeling better. I have a claim in now for euthanasia for Sadie. While I know there was no ill intent meant, it hurt to see an email asking if Sadie was feeling better.

Vague reimbursement policy and incredibly slow

it is hard to believe that it takes 4 weeks to process a claim that I submit every month for prescription food

I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED

Casper got a bacterial lung infection due probably to red tide. They had to do lab cultures etc. and the whole bill came to about $600.00. They are denying the claim saying it's due to allergies although I and the vet have submitted lab reports stating otherwise. This has been going on since July and they are still telling me it's under review.

Reimbursements are very timely.

For the most part, I am very happy with my policy; however, as a dog gets older ( and the premium gets higher), it would be nice if the allowable amounts would be raised to cover a larger portion of my out-of-pocket amounts (maybe a senior discount-could be applied). Also, one would think that for the middle coverage, that there would be an allowance for at least 1 yearly physical . I know you have a higher coverage policy, but I am on a fixed income, and to pay almost $1,000 a year for the extra coverage is a hardship. Just my opinion.

Nationwide has helped us out significantly with Lola's recent vet visits!

Our Lola is a 16 month old Bernedoodle, we love her so much and want the very best for her so we are so happy to have Nationwide. Lola has a very sensitive stomach and ever since she was a puppy she's experienced diarrhea and vomiting throughout her puppyhood. We get very concerned because she becomes very dehydrated and lethargic. She also had Giarrdia at one point and that is very difficult to get rid of completely. All that said, we are at the vet A LOT! it's very comforting to know that we can continue to get her checked out and have some of the cost covered by Nationwide. My only complaint is that Lola has exceeded one of the claim categories, which was under the vomiting. This was unfair to me because the vets couldn't figure out what was wrong with her so we had to return to the vet and get more testing done. Chronic vomiting is a serious and dangerous condition, and we were very concerned for Lola and the vets couldn't give us answers either. It would be great if there was more Nationwide support for diagnostic testing claims.
