The plan works better than a thought

I was surprised that my dog actually had some coverage since he had so many weird issues. I'm an insurance agent and after receiving and reading the policy it seemed nothing was covered but I was wrong. Vertu happy to have some assistance with his ongoing medical needs

Overall ok but claims process can be difficult if additional documentation is required

My experience with Nationwide has been mixed. WIth my prior cat, I had to provide alot of addiitonal documentation and claims were still rejected. The annual caps for coverage when a pet has a chronic illness made no sense to me. For example, my cat had congestive heart failure, and after basically one or two follow-up appointments, the insurance was capped out for any additional xrays or even her medication. The coverage for continued care needs is poor, given the premiums paid. The coverage is fine for one-time medical needs or annual maintenance exams.

Abhorrent

My 16 year old champion died in 2018. I could barely talk about it for months. I realized that in my sorrow I hadn't notified Nationwide. I was asked to send info as to his euthanasia. I did, then kept getting billed through my work for coverage. Again I called and the agent said I would get back the payments that had been deducted from my wages. No response in 2nd month, so I,called again having to relive Cobys death. This agent explained that I OWED money and I would not be getting monthly payments back. I can guarantee this true story will NOT get published. An abhorrent experience.

Most comprehensive I've found yet.

I have used Nationwide for both pets and vehicles. The claim process for my pets has been quick and easily understood. I have greatly appreciated this company over the years.
