Nationwide | Pet Insurance Review

We are so lucky we bought our pet insurance through Nationwide. Never predicted the ongoing allergy problems our beautiful AKC boxer puppy would experience and thankful for the help we have received with our vet bills, enabling us to try remedies we may not have been able to afford. Assistance with the special hydrolized protein food was never expected and appreciated as well.

I've had Nationwide Pet insurance for several years now and there are 2 main areas that need to be improved. First, the yearly increase of premium without sufficient explanation needs to change. I've called customer reps to find out why my premium increases and no one can provide a valid reason. This lack of transparency is unsettling. The second improvement that should be made is the process of submitting claims. It's not efficient. Having to fill out a claim form, print it, sign it, scan it and then email back to the insurance company is much too long. There should be the ability to take a picture of the invoice and send it directly via a mobile app.

The claim was processed in the typical amount of time considering the holidays. It would be nice if there was an online portal for filling out claims instead of the paper form.

I am very happy I made the decision to choose nationwide pet insurance for my furry kid. The customer service, support, help and all the different tools available to make my life easier when it comes down to taking care of my dogs health are available through nationwide! We have used Nationwide, previously VPI, since Marley was born. She is to be 10 years old this month and unfortunately starting at about 4/12 to 5 she has many health issues like diabetes, cataract surgery (she can Now see), thyroidism and skin issues. Thanks to our insurance Marley was and still Able to have the best of care with 4 veterinarians
