Best care for best dog!
Sammy is very precious to us and we are really glad to be able to have him covered by insurance in case of emergency and just for general health purposes.
He is a very good "fur baby" and we don't worry as much knowing that Nationwide covers him and our other pup, Paco. At least a portion of the bills gets paid and it helps, especially since we are on limited income. There is no other choice but making sure that our little guys are well taken care of.

Wouldn’t be without it!!
Having a pet and taking proper care of it is a MAJOR responsibility. My first dog was insured when she was 2 and lived to be 17 thanks to the wonderful coverage provided by VPI (eventually Nationwide). They literally saved her life AND her sight. My current pet, Cookie, has a sensitive tummy and eats TX food. They even help with that. Considering the love and companionship i’ve Had over the last 22 years, it’s a small price to pay to keep them healthy and happy. I highly recommend the top package as it reimburses (after satisfying deductible) at a very competitive rate.

Things have changed in regards to the company’s claim of quick payments
I’ve had my dogs and cats covered under this insurance for a number of years and will continue to do so, but they have really slowed down on the amount of time it takes to process a claim...almost to the 30 day mark. This wasn’t the case and they lived up to their claim of quick turnarounds for claim processing, but that seemed to slow down considerably in August/September 2018. It’s disappointing, especially since we have to pay the vet for services first and then, may have other pets who need services, so we have to wait to get reimbursed by the insurance company. I hope that improves to their higher standard again.

So far I have a great experience with the nationwide pet insurance when it comes to my pet claim and with the customer service every time I make a phone calls or follow up my claims, they’ve an excellent service answering all your questions and explaining your insurance coverage.
Monthly Cost

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage.
The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees.
All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.
Payout Limits
Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances.
There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.
Deductible
Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000.
Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.
Age Limits
No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Waiting Period
14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.
Exclusions
Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months).
Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
