I wouldn't be without pet insurance.

I HAVE THE RIDER that is like an HMO for health. I wish it would cover more of the shots that keep our pets healthy so they don't have big bills later on. This helps folks keep their pets too. Some folks find they cannot afford to pay for all of this so they ditch the pet or try to find a shelter for them. Many are just let loose to fend for themselves. today; they need a lot of shots because of the diseases. wild animals in the area. This rider is so important to have as it may be the only part of the plan you hopefully get to use. We hope none get sick and need the other part of the plan.

Good company and associates that care about their clients

Nationwide (formally VIP) is a known company and have shown to be very communicative, care about the client and have knowledgeable associates that answer all my questions. The process is smooth and would highly recommend.

Not worth the money!!

Not worth the $$ at all. You are better putting $$ in a high yield savings account then just withdrawing from it when your pet has issues. It doesn’t cover anything that could be congenital, no pre-existing conditions and there’s a cap on certain conditions like cancer. I’ll be canceling this. I’ve had insurance for both my dogs since I’ve had them ( over 10 years for one) and it just doesn’t cover enough.

Love my Nationwide pet insurance

We have had pet insurance for 14 years covering two dogs. One dog was not so healthy and the the insurance helped relieve some of the financial stress of multiple vet bills. Our second dog is healthy and doesn't use the coverage much. But I'd rather have fixed premiums and a healthy dog than a dog with issues that uses the services all the time.

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
