insured since my 8 yr old shep was 8 weeks old and never, ever a problem. excellent service

would never even consider another insurer. if and when we get another pet we will return to Nationwide for coverage. we have had some pretty expensive claims, one almost $4000, and it was paid with no question. thanks Nationwide

Couldn't be easier

When your pet is sick or having issues the last thing you want to deal with is cumbersome insurance paperwork. With Nationwide there is none of that. I fill in a few things on the mostly pre-filled form and fax it over with the necessary paperwork. I get notified when a plan statement is ready and find out what benefit I will be receiving. Couldn't be easier.

Good experience overall

Generally pretty straightforward to get processed although the PDF form with email submittal (email can be hard to find) is not as easy as it could be. Once submitted, processed in the promised time frames.

Recommend Nationwide Pet insurance.

Definetly recommend pet insurance. Never thought i would be using it this much, but luckily I have it. Over the course of the year, Nationwide has been more prompt with confirmation emails and payouts. Very easy to file a claim. Only negative is they didnt pay as much for well visits as I expected, such as shots. And there are caps on what you file as well depending on the diagnosis. Overall, I have been happy with them.

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
