Better than most
I have been with Nationwide pet Insurance for over a year. I have the premium. I love my 2 and a half year old American German Shepard , he's my 82.3 lb. Lil man of love and play. The price went up from 66.00 a month to 100.00 a month. At fist I was beside myself. Then I received a notice from my own employer that our insurance was going up. Well I did checking and wanted to look for a cheaper lower cost pet insurance. All of them never covered vaccine, or preventative. Nationwide does. (after my 250.00 deductible). As life and reality smacking you in the face. My boy Kaine was playing with a stick, I personally never let him play with sticks because of the fatal injuries that can occur from stick play. But I didn't tell my daughter. He tore off his soft palate in the back of his throat. He was lucky, he survived and its actually healing. Total cost with meds and check ups. Could have been over 3500.00.that was if reconstructive surgery was necessary. All the other insurance company's would have only re-embursed me 80%. Nationwide is the only to do 90%.
Let's face it no insurance company is 100% flawless or perfect from your work or pet insurance. But by far Nationwide has been good to me and my boy. They do have many different plans, that are a bit cheaper, I haven't checked into it due to the fact that all of my lil man's injuries have been play related.
I gave them an 8 rating because I wish there was an insurance company for pets that would cover the the cost like they do for humans and you pay your Co pay at the vet, or a percentage.
So on that note, my suggestion, if your gonna have a pet, open a separate bank account for your pet along with pet insurance. Put 10.00 to whatever you can afford, for the emergencies that will happen.
