Takes longer than I anticipated to process a claim

It does take longer than I thought it should to process a claim. There are a few companies that are better in that area. However, everyone I have talked to or corresponded with has been very helpful.

Is the hassle worth the pay back?

I don’t know honestly if the hassle is worth the 90% coverage! It’s awful to submit claims. I do it on the app, but then the correspondence is by mail. Doesn’t that defeat the point of an app? I also think the determinations are crap! I have had all my claims paid 90%, but when I sent in records of her first baby visit, there was a note about her tooth being turned. So they wrote it wouldn’t ever be covered. Which is hilarious bc it was a baby tooth! None of her big teeth are even turned per our vet. It’s not a concern, but when I saw the notification, I wondered who wasted their time trying to determine if a baby tooth issue would be covered???? Poor guy/gal wherever they are. She didn’t even have baby teeth by the time they sent that paper. My biggest issue is the inconsistency in messaging from people on the phones. I tried to send all her records in on my first claim, so they’d be on file. It messed that claim up and took forever to get sorted out. Then on another claim, they refused to process until I sent all the records. LOL! I know I had sent them, but it took like 5 reps and two months to finally get it sorted out. Somehow her spaying claim paid Fastest after all the ~drama.~ I am diligent and organized, but it’s exhausting. But I heard that’s the point right? So far I have gotten paid and I have actually come out ahead money wise. It takes a lot of effort, but it can be worth it depending on your grit.

It is great to have insurance for my Piao. He’s my family.

I have been pleased with insurance coverage for my ShihTzu. He recently had surgery and Nationwide covered 90% of the cost. After my deductible I have no worries about expensive vet bills.

Monthly Cost

Policies start at approximately $12 per month.

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.
