Piece of Mind

My boyfriend and I are first time dog parents. Ollie, our dog is everything to us. He is now 18 months. A little over a year ago few of our friends, also pet parents recommended getting insurance for him. Of course we thought about it but didn’t do. When, Ollie was 7 months old he jumped into the air to catch a ball and hit his leg on the metal part of our chair. I thought his leg was broken. $600 later, Luckily for us nothing was broken, just needed some rest. We got insurance the next day. A couple months ago we thought Ollie was choking or something was stuck in his throat. When to the vet insists on a x-ray, our bill was $543. It was kennel cough. I summited a bill to nationwide and it was covered. Took a few minutes to do. I highly recommend pet insurance thru Nationwide. As a first dog parent. The vet hotline answers all my questions and even call back to check on him.

Simple process, very timely fulfillment!

I've had to submit a couple of claims recently and each time I've been thrilled with the ease at which I can file an electronic claim, the timeliness in which the claim is processed, and the rapid reimbursement.

Best

The best decision I made when getting my puppy was getting nationwide pet insurance and it's so easy putting in a clam

Vets don't always state diagnosis.

Claim finally paid. Prescription food should be covered.

Worst customer service I've e4ver received from Nationwide

on 8/6/19 called and spoke to a customer service agent named "Michelle" who couldn't have been more rude and uncompassionate. My Furry child, "Princess" is 5 and she rescued me after I lost my 14 y/o long hair GSD who I insured w/Nationwide when she was 18 months old. Princess was in a quick kill shelter in Tx when she was rescued by Give A Dog a Home German Shepherd Rescue in Sebec, Maine. Imagine the feeling Princess must have had in Tx, given how intuitive the breed is, then to ME which is a different climate etc.- So she had some diarrhea, that wouLd be almost expected wouldn't it? No- Not for Nationwide because after Princess had an encounter with a porcupine WHICH REQUIRED HER TO BE SEDATED WHICH IN ITSELF MAY CAUSE DIARRHEA, which I took her to the emergency room for you said she had gastroenteritis as well as a dermatitis- SHE HAS NEITHER OF THESE!!!!! on 8/9, I took Princess to her regular vet and have sent the doctor notes as well ( FYI- No indication of any of the issues you've said are pre-existing) a review request form and asked that I receive a conformation that the documents were received- OF COURSE I'VE RECEIVED NOTHING. If all the exceptions on the policy are not removed I won't be renewing my policy and I'll go to Embrace, a company who even rewards veterans for their service in the form a of a lower cost for pet insurance w/ equivalent or better coverage if you're a USAA member- which I am and have been for over 4 decades now. Nationwide has lost its way
