When I told people of the injury my dog had, they typically had 3 questions. 1) What happened? 2) What are you going to do? 3) How much will it cost? The third question was the easiest to answer because I always responded with "Thank god I have pet insurance because it takes that concern away." The people with pets tend to walk away mumbling "I think I should get insurance for my dog."

The best decision I have ever made was to purchase Nationwide Pet Ins. NW Pet Ins makes it so easy to make claims for even me. A technically challenged dog lover. And even easier to make decisions on my pets healthcare. When before I would pick and choose which preventive healthcare services I could afford.... now I have the peace of mind to take care of any issues my vet feels is essential. The biggest drama came when my big boy Louis was having trouble going up and down stairs...running into walls, trees everything. Wouldn't drive in the car anymore, which he had always loved to do. I was beside myself because I thought I had been a terrible dog owner. What did I do to cause this ?? I've been a dog owner my whole life and never experienced this situation. Nationwide Pet insurance saved my dog and me!! It turned out Louis had devolped cateracts. Who knew dogs could get it?? He was only 5 yrs old. That's what my grandma had at 80. I will be forever grateful to Nationwide Pet Insurance and will always be with Nationwide for all my current and future pets!!

Hey, I apologize for not giving Nationwide Pet Insurance a BIG 10. I only gave a 9 because of the pre-existing problems not covered...….but, in all honestly, I can understand why Nationwide and all other pet insurance companies have in this stipulation, i.e., you all would go broke. Harley, my beloved German Shepherd, was rescued at four years old....and he had hip dysplasia caused by the genetic gene with which he was born. Sadly for me that pre-existing condition caused me to be hit hard twice financially, but thankfully today, after having both of his hips replaced, he's an entirely different, active, happy and pain free dog today which warms my heart. However, when his stomach bloated unexpectedly about one month ago, Nationwide came through very well for me financially, and it was greatly appreciated. Thank you.. Only asking now that you and I both keep our fingers crossed Harley's third major surgery was the charm, i.e., no more surgeries ever again after already having had both hips replaced and his stomach repositioned :) Sincerely, Sandra Canepa
