Good coverage for pets
I have 3 policies with Nationwide and for the most part, it is is good insurance. Historically, Nationwide has taken a full 30 days to reimburse me, but the last few claims were processed much quicker (one week). You can opt to have reimbursement funds sent directly to your bank account which is convenient.
Their insurance structure is similar to human insurance in that policies have an annual deductible and co-pay versus a per-incident deductible.
Contrary to the language in their literature, they do raise rates annually and some years the jump is higher based on the amount of claims I've had. Perhaps that's coincidental, but I think not. Their policies do not cover pre-existing conditions, but none of the pet insurers do. It's best to get pet insurance immediately upon adoption.

Policies start at approximately $12 per month.

The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees.

Exclusions
Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months).
