Rigid underwriting rules

Last year I attempted to upgrade my policy for my healthy dog but was denied because of a silly condition my vet tried to intervene but your guidelines were nonsensical and would require me to put my dog through an unnecessary surgery to remove a benign fatty tumor that had not grown since it was discovered a few years ago. My vet said it would ridiculous to do that. So I didn’t.

The best insurance claim experience I have ever had.

Nationwide Per Insurance has been an exceptional experience. Submitting claims via VitusVet App is seamless and I just signed up for electronic payment. Excellent. Our human health insurance is light years behind and is one of the best known and widely accepted.

Easy peasy claim submission and reimbursement

Took 7 month old puppy to the vet with severe diarrhea. Sent home with flagyl and Panacure to address possible parasitic infection. Submitted claim and was promptly paid. Thanks for making vet payment easy.

Such an easy process

Fast and courteous claim processing

I was thrilled to learn that I could file multiple claims for Dr. Watson's vet care, which I did recently with claims dating back a couple of years. No guilt for very late filing and prompt claim fulfillment.

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
