Easy to file claim, easy to get paid

Once you work out exactly what is needed (invoice and exam notes from doc) filing a claim is super easy, and getting paid is even easier. Nationwide has been a delight to work with. My dog was unexpectedly diagnosed with an irregular heartbeat (initially thought to be dilated cardiomyopathy.) We had to do a bunch of expensive tests to rule out DCM, and Nationwide supported us the whole time and made the claims process as easy as possible.

Great coverage, great service

We love Nationwide Pet Insurance for our pet. Filing claims is fast and easy. Claims are reviewed usually within 2 weeks. We have never had an issue with the claims that we file and most if not all services have been covered or apply to our deductible.

No panic when a vet’s visit is needed.

Betty has some chronic issues— ear infections is the biggest. Each time symptoms pop up, I don’t fear the bill that will follow. Filing on my phone app is smooth and seamless. Payment has even been coming before the credit card bill!

Easy to make claims, but limited coverage

We have had a lot of challenges with our pup and know insurance won’t cover it all. Nationwide has covered the claims we have sent and has processed items very quickly with no hassle. The hardest part is the added exemptions after every vet visit. Namely, any small skin lesion we want to have removed won’t be covered until after removed since we had it checked out prior. That’s just silly.

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
