I recently had the option to sign up for pet insurance through my employer. Two months later, Holly inhaled what is possibly the very first foxtail of the season. We knew what it was right away as this is the second time this has happened to her and that large boxer snout of hers. The last time was painful for her, and for us, when we were told what removal was going to cost. But there's no alternative, so we quickly took her to the vet where she had surgery to remove the bugger and by 8:00pm that night I was submitting my claim to Nationwide. Within a week, I receive an email notifying me that my claim had been paid. The following week, I had a check. I'm very glad I signed up for this insurance and grateful that it covered most of this unexpected expense.
