Nationwide | Pet Insurance Review

Nationwide has been there with with previous dog, Cassidy and my current dog, Riley. It is very easy to do business with Nationwide and their support is amazing. They were so genuinely sorry when Cassidy passed away. Everyone should have pet insurance and Nationwide is my choice.

I can't say enough about the quality and timeliness on Nationwide in times of need. It's stressful enough when you have a sick "child", but knowing that Nationwide will be there to support you allows you to stress about the important things, i.e. nursing your pet back to health, especially in life and death situations like I experienced just this week. I can't thank Nationwide enough and couldn't possibly provide a high enough recommendation.

My nine-year-old Lab had a serious and sudden situation in which she could no longer walk. My vet, after examination and an X-ray, recommended we get an MRI by a neurologist. We did so, and the neurologist ultimately recommended a steroid management in the hope we could avoid surgery. The cost of the MRI and associated services was nearly $5000. This was a necessity. Nationwide covered only $1600 of it on the basis that they had already hit the amount allotted. Well, if so, the allotted amount is too low. We did precisely what we were advised to do in the order in which we were advised to do it. Presumably the cost of a surgery would not have been covered either. Given that for over nine years I've been paying roughly $100/month, I should think this would have been more adequately covered. And I am not particularly happy about it.

Our dog has been in the best of care. when he was a little over a year he was chewing on a defective cow hoof, we immediately took it away from him and noticed a few days later he got really sick. we took him to the vet and he had a piece of the cor hoof that had torn up his intestines, he had to get surgery to have it removed. since then things get stuck due to scar tissue build up, they have had to continue moving parts of his intestine to save his life. without insurance we would have had to put him down as the cost of surgeries are not cheap. his health has really been impacted from this cow hoof. we fought with the company and they removed them all from the shelves after months and months battling. it doesn't help with our dog though cause the damage had already been caused. he has continued to have surgeries which have been successful but taking their toll. This dog deserves life, he is full of energy, and is only 3 years old! thank you to Nationwide for always supporting us and helping with the vets expenses. we tell everyone Pet insurance is a must and this company is who they need for their pet. we will never go again without it for our beloved family members.
