Easy to apply and fast to receive claims

Nationwide has improved the time to receive claims. It takes only a few days to get approval. Super easy to submit claims using VitusVet. Overall, very pleased with this service.

Excellent Coverage and Easy to File Claims

Nationwide provides excellent coverage and their partnership with Vitus Vet to file claims makes filing claims a breeze! Claims literally take less than 2 minutes to file. Knowing that I am fully covered made my decision to have a major knee reconstruction surgery on my dog done a no brained and removed the stress of worrying about how I would pay for it.

more electronic communications vs. paper mail

Overall, the process through VitusVet is easy and convenient. However, for this claim you asked for additional information and instead of doing so via the app or email, you sent a letter in the mail. It seems that the entire process should be able to be completed online. Also, it did take a while although during this crazy, unprecedented time, it's to be expected.

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
