MetLife | Pet Insurance Review

MetLife has been a life saver! Who knew pet insurance was really needed! I’ve had it since my dog was a pup. Usually I don’t need to call at all. Most of my transactions are all going on the app. But the very few times I’ve had to call, the service and help was amazing!!! Thank you for all you provide!

Here we go again—another denied claim. Another month of absolute nonsense. At this point, I’m not even surprised. Just disgusted. For YEARS, I’ve submitted the exact same documentation from my vet stating that both of my dogs require AGE every single month. It’s on file. It’s highlighted. It couldn’t be more clear unless I tattooed it on someone’s forehead. And still—STILL—MetLife can’t get it right. Every month I waste my time fixing their mistakes. Every month I get some excuse: new staff, system issues, someone forgot to read. Are you kidding me? If any of us did our jobs this poorly, we’d be fired on the spot. The truth is, MetLife Pet Insurance is broken. The service is a joke. The systems are garbage. If I weren’t locked in because of pre-existing condition exclusions, I’d have ditched them ages ago. As soon as I find a better provider, I’m done. And if you’re reading this and dealing with the same ridiculous runaround—take this as your sign. Jump ship. They don’t deserve your money, your time, or your trust. Fix this, MetLife. Or don’t. Just know I’m not going quietly anymore.

It is very easy to submit an online claim. Also easy to attach documentation. Once that's done, there's an email to say the claim's been received. It's a standard email, so if the claim is processed faster or slower, you won't know until the completion email is received. I'm okay with that. Glad I have insurance for her; she's always into something new, and I am a worrier.

Claims are processed within given time limit. Also very fair in determination of benefits. Always professional. Thank you.

Coverage is great and worth it. I wish I'd gotten pet insurance earlier in my life. I thought it was too expensive, but it's worth it as vet costs are crazy. Covering Rx flea treatment and wellness is worth it right there. The agents I've spoken with have been so enjoyable to speak with as we always end up talking about our cats lol.
