Ease of submitting claim with Lemonade

Before Chewy came out with a stripped-down version for accident insurance, my research was that Lemonade had the least monthly cost but I did pay for the whole year at once which gave me a discount and I had two cats so they gave me a 10% discount. I will say the submission process was pretty simple although I will say it was interesting that they wanted you to video your explanation of how your cat got into their predicament. Apparently they had facial data on whether you are lying or not. Go figure.

When life gives you lemons…

Lemonade Insurance has been a great experience! I wanted to ensure our puppy was covered in case her shenanigans got too wild. The sign up and claim process was automated and simple to use. Payout was almost immediate. I loved the experience so much I got insurance on our other animals and I switched my auto and renters insurance over to Lemonade.

Lemonade is an amazing pet partner

My dog was just diagnosed with diabetes at 7 1/2 years old. I filed my first ever claim to Lemonade for it and was treated kindly and fairly. They obtained the extra information they needed directly from the vet, approved my claim, and paid my 80% after deductible to my bank account quickly. They have continued to handle my claims quickly as we stabilize my girl’s insulin. I am so happy that I have Lemonade insurance for my dogs, they have helped ease the stress of this difficult time.

100% Recommend Lemonade

I have used several pet insurances, but will recommend Lemonade to anyone looking. They have excellent customer service, their claim process is quick and easy, their repayment speed is probably my favorite. I had one situation where my dog spent a few days in the hospital, upwards of $2000, I picked up her notes when I left, sent the claim that day, and had my portion (90%) in my bank account within 48 hours. They paid for what they claimed they pay for, and I have never had a single issue with them. I tell everyone with pets to use Lemonade.

Monthly Cost

Policies start at $10/Month

Coverage

Accident and Illness coverage, with optional wellness package at reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible.

Payout Limits

Lemonade Pet Insurance benefits cap off between $5,000 and $100,000, depending on how users set up their policy.

Deductible

$100, $250 or $500 annually.

Age Limits

Pets must be at least 8 weeks old to enroll. Lemonade does not terminate coverage for pets as they age.

Waiting Period

All Lemonade pet policies have a series of waiting periods: -2 days for accidents -14 days for illnesses -6 months for cruciate ligament events There is no waiting period for preventative coverage.

Exclusions

Exclusions follow the market standard, so they don’t cover pre-existing conditions; bilateral conditions, dental illness, microchipping; anal gland expression; spaying and neutering; something that happens because of breeding or pregnancy; prescription food; vitamins; and supplements; experimental treatments, or recurring conditions. They will be expanding some of these coverages soon.
