Lemonade is a new kind of pet insurance company that uses artificial intelligence and behavioral economics to replace brokers and bureaucracy with bots and machine learning.  They aim for zero paperwork and instant everything, and are obsessed with social good, delighting customers, and pets.

Lemonade has done a great job in claim and assistant

Lemonade has done a great job in communicating and assistant with my claim. The assistant helped me to figure out the details of the policy one by one as well as contacted the vet to understand the details of each payment to help me get claim approval smoother and sooner. She is always very patient and friendly.

Excellent Customer Service!

I am super impressed with this company! When I filed my claim, the customer service associate was so helpful and even asked for a picture of my dog. You guys know the way to a pet owners heart! And my claim was submitted and a refund sent to me in ONE day. Just amazing! Keep up the good work.

Excellent service!

What can I say? The service is very efficient and simplified, from registration to filing claims to receiving funds. Overall, terrific experience with Lemonade. I appreciate the depth they've gone to simplify insurance services in general, and they currently handle two policies for me. Thanks, Lemonade!

Best pet insurance out there

It's my first time having a pet with my husband so we are treating her like our baby since we don't have kids. Knowing that we have an insurance for her gives us a peace of mind. We did our research and the one that conviene us was Lemonade. So far it's been a great experience, very fast and easy to use with the App. They communicate very well via email. So no complaints here. We are looking forward to add a future pet to this insurance.

Monthly Cost

Policies start at $10/Month

Coverage

Accident and Illness coverage, with optional wellness package at reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible.

Payout Limits

Lemonade Pet Insurance benefits cap off between $5,000 and $100,000, depending on how users set up their policy.

Deductible

$100, $250 or $500 annually.

Age Limits

Pets must be at least 8 weeks old to enroll. Lemonade does not terminate coverage for pets as they age.

Waiting Period

All Lemonade pet policies have a series of waiting periods: -2 days for accidents -14 days for illnesses -6 months for cruciate ligament events There is no waiting period for preventative coverage.

Exclusions

Exclusions follow the market standard, so they don’t cover pre-existing conditions; bilateral conditions, dental illness, microchipping; anal gland expression; spaying and neutering; something that happens because of breeding or pregnancy; prescription food; vitamins; and supplements; experimental treatments, or recurring conditions. They will be expanding some of these coverages soon.
