Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

My 4-year-old teacup yorkie has been through quite a lot in her short life. Last year, she had encephalitis which was extremely serious. I wanted to do all I could for her regarding tests, CT scans and medicine. The cost was very high and there was uncertainity if this condition would last forever but knowing I had Healthy Paws made all the difference. Recently my sweet girl got HGE and that was another random and unforunate occurence. And, again, Healthy Paws was there to the rescue. Honestly, I never thought I would need health insurance for my dog as much as I have, but I am beyond grateful I do. I would encourage anyone with a furry friend to sign up for Healthy Paws today. They are quick to review my claims, reimburse me in a timely manner and all the reps I have spoken to are helpful and care about my dog. I've never had a dog in my life before Luna, so I knew as soon as I got her back in 2017 that I needed pet insurance ASAP. I got her covered when she was 6 months old so she wouldn't have any pre-existing conditions. I read reviews for a bunch of insurance companies online, and I am SO glad I went with Healthy Paws! Every single time I've ever called them, I've been connected to a real person (in Washington!) who has compassionately and fully answered my questions or concerns. The claims process is quick and only ever takes a couple days, and then 90% of whatever is covered is deposited directly into my account. Recently, I got $600 of an over $700 emergency room bill reimbursed, which was HUGE for my peace of mind!! They're transparent about the annual deductible, which thankfully I'd already satisfied, and then they followed up with me personally afterward via email to ask how Luna was and make sure she was okay. The staff is friendly, the claims process is simple and intuitive, and there have never been any surprises in terms of what is or isn't covered. I absolutely love HealthyPaws insurance for my dog and would highly recommend it to anyone who has a pet. A few of my friends, who're pet owners, have this insurance (per my recommendation) and they're very happy with it as well. Pros: - Customer service is excellent - Very prompt payment (most times getting reimbursed within 2 days of submitting a claim) - Excellent coverage - Got coverage on a test that most insurances don't cover Cons: - a bit pricy, but totally worth it, especially if you have a pet with health issues
