The reply to my comment below is worse than the excuse that was given to us in the first place. It is very easy to say "we do our best ...", and don't do anything. For your information, we tested our dog for giardia before making the huge mistake of paying Healthy paws, and it was negative. After joining this insurance plan, she had a stomach issue, and the vet said they should test her again. Now Healthy paws says this is "pre-existing" because our dog was tested for giardia before, and they cannot understand the simple fact that when the test is negative nothing "exists"!!

Great Coverage + Customer Service

Our dog had to undergo a major surgery. Healthy Paws was instrumental in allowing us to get the best treatment for our pup. He's well on his way to a full recovery and Healthy Paws was able to help with the medical costs and their flexibility on providers was extremely helpful. Customer service has always been fantastic as well, I can tell they really care about the well being of our dog.

Peace of Mind

When adding Claude to my family, I knew that I would be getting medical insurance for him. It is the best decision ever. Just knowing that I never have to worry if he gets sick or has a major health problem down the road. It gives complete peace of mind knowing I can give him all he needs.

I have had this insurance for 8 years

I have had this insurance for 8 years, since my dog was 12 weeks old. She is 8 yrs old now. Healthy Paws just increased our payment from $95 to $143 per month. A 45% increase. We hardly used this insurance. Bad customer service.

Knee surgery

10/10. Can not say enough. I was hesitant about getting pet insurance but I’m so glad I did. I know Shepherd’s have bad hips so that altered my decision. I expected my dogs hips to go around seven but I was surprised that his knee was actually torn since four years old. Healthy paws has been truly amazing. No hassle. Fast reimbursement. I’m telling everyone I know.

Monthly Cost

$15 – $80, depending on breed, zip code, age of pet and choice of deductible and co-pay.

Coverage

One plan covers accidents, illnesses, cancer, emergency care, genetic conditions, alternative care and more. You can choose a co-pay of 10%, 20%, 30% or 40%. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Payout Limits

No per incident, annual or lifetime pay-out limit.

Deductible

You can choose an annual deductible of $250, $500 or $750* *Choice depends on age of the pet

Age Limits

Pets must be at least 8 weeks old and under 14 years old at time of enrollment. Once enrolled, pets can stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Coverage begins 15 days after your policy starts. There is a 12-month waiting period for hip dysplasia claims.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Hereditary and congenital conditions are covered, however hip dysplasia is only covered in pets who enroll before they are 6 years old.
