Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

I cannot say enough about this company and how it's more than just a pet insurance company. I can't think of another vendor I've ever worked with in any industry that has been easier and better to work with than Healthy Paws. I first started working with them about 7 years ago for my bulldog Clementine. She has had many health issues and surgeries throughout the years. Claims are easy to fill and they are extremely fast too reimburse. Most recently we had an emergency situation with my bulldog came out of her normal boarding with trouble breathing. It got worse and worse throughout the day and I had to bring her to the ER. They immediately sedated her and gave me feedback that she needed emergency surgery and might not make it. In addition to that, they told me she was the most critical animal at the hospital and if I hadn't brought her in within the hour she probably would not have made it. It was a lot of money to go through this emergency surgery and the hospital needed about $2,500 right away to keep her going through the night. I gladly paid it and had the confidence that Healthy Paws would cover and reimburse me the 90% I had signed up for. I called them the next day after receiving the full estimate which was about $13,000. Health Paws jumped on the phone with me and went through all of the details directly with the animal hospital. They took care of the entire situation so that I didn't have to worry about anything. The surgery was a success, and we got Clementine home after a few days. When I called Healthy Paws to make sure everything worked out, I realized that not only had the hospital been paid in full, but they had also reimbursed me the money I overpaid originally on that night. They saved my dogs life. I signed up my second dog (Dakota) the minute we got her. There aren't many companies out there that I "love". I can safely say that I absolutely love healthy paws, and my family and I thank them from the bottom of our hearts.

I would give zero stars if I could. I have been a loyal customer with multiple pet policies for 8 years. When I signed up, my pets were very young. I did extensive research on pet insurance at the time. The primary reason I went with Healthy Paws Insurance was that I was assured premiums would not increase solely based on age and claims filed. This was a fraudulent and false claim. In the 8 years since I have had this insurance, my premiums have increased 177%. The premium increases were small when the pets were young, a bit more as they got older, and in the last 2 years alone, they have increased by 148%! Healthy Paws has nearly 200 complaints with the Better Business Bureau...many along this same line. As far as I can tell, Healthy Paws will gladly take your money (I have paid many thousands in premiums) up until the point that your pet starts to *really need* the insurance. They will then ruthlessly jack up your premiums to price you right out of your policies. Don't be fooled like I was! Purchasing pet insurance from Healthy Paws is one of the worst decisions I ever made! I truly hope there is a class-action lawsuit against this company. They should be run out of business for what they are doing to people!

Healthypaws is amazing! The response time is very quick, the coverage is straightforward and it takes the financial worry out of making sure your pet has the best medical care. The app makes filing and submitting a claim SO easy and quick!

I was skeptical about pet insurance, but I signed up when I adopted my dog, and now I'm so glad I did! My dog was recently diagnosed with Addison's disease after going into an Addisonian crisis. The crisis alone was terrifying, but thankfully it's a treatable condition with daily steroids and monthly injections, and thanks to Healthy Paws, I can afford to keep him healthy. It's easy to file a claim, and reimbursements are sent quickly. I highly recommend Healthy Paws. Sign up when you adopt your pet!
