Fantastic experience

Outrageous pricing increases
We have been happy with the coverage however the annual increases to our premium have been outrageous. From 2019 to 2020 the premium increased over 35%. From 2020 to 2021 the increase was 50%. Over the course of 8 years the price has increased almost 400%.

Healthy Paws is fast, reliable, and friendly
Healthy Paws just paid $984 for Rosie's surgery, 24 hours after I submitted my claim. I'm very pleased.
In the time I've been insured with them, their customer service over the phone and by email has always been friendly and efficient. This surgery was their first "test" as to whether they'd cover what I expected them to cover quickly and without hassle, and they've passed that test with flying colors.
Because I didn't ever want to face a huge bill for Rosie's care that I couldn't pay, I got insurance through Healthy Paws about three years ago. They don't raise premiums or reduce benefits because of claim history. Also, the annual deductible is just that, annual, not per incident. And there's no maximum payout limit per incident, year, or lifetime. I recommend Healthy Paws.

Also, the annual deductible is just that, annual, not per incident. And there's no maximum payout limit per incident, year, or lifetime. I recommend Healthy Paws.

A lifesaver for both our dogs!
Healthy Paws has been amazing for our two dogs. They are easy to work with, quick to let us know what's covered and very quick to mail checks to us. Almost everything, except for a few pre-existing conditions, has been covered. Having insurance has created such peace of mind when our dogs get sick. Our one dog needed an MRI recently and it was so nice to know that we could afford to do it. Also, the app and website are so easy to use and they will even email to check in and see how our pups are doing!
Monthly Cost
$15 – $80, depending on breed, zip code, age of pet and choice of deductible and co-pay.
Coverage
One plan covers accidents, illnesses, cancer, emergency care, genetic conditions, alternative care and more.
You can choose a co-pay of 10%, 20%, 30% or 40%.
The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.
Payout Limits
No per incident, annual or lifetime pay-out limit.
Deductible
You can choose an annual deductible of $250, $500 or $750*
*Choice depends on age of the pet
Age Limits
Pets must be at least 8 weeks old and under 14 years old at time of enrollment.
Once enrolled, pets can stay insured regardless of age.
Waiting Period
Coverage begins 15 days after your policy starts. There is a 12-month waiting period for hip dysplasia claims.
Exclusions
Pre-existing conditions are not covered.
Hereditary and congenital conditions are covered, however hip dysplasia is only covered in pets who enroll before they are 6 years old.
