Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

Had this insurance for seven years. My last experience was a big disappointment that I cannot recommend this company. My beloved golden doodle became severely sick and was taken to an animal emergency room. Unfortunately they were not able to save her. After I sent in the bill nothing was covered. I would imagine the exam cost and lab work in the ER should be covered right? Nope. I’m too heart broken to make phone calls to fight for it. One the reviewer was spot on when he said that they would try to always deny your claims. Update: after this was posted, I did make a phone call to cancel my policy since my email to info at healthypaws was unanswered. The very nice lady from customer support did explain that the zero coverage was a result of a duplicate claim and that I should be receiving some reimbursement.

Their customer service is great! And i had no issues with a big claim. I was surprised by how easy it was to get reimbursed for the big surgery

I’ve had to submit several claims for our sweet puppy due to an illness and every claim was acted on quickly! I’ve told several people about healthy paws already but I’ll talk about it whenever given the chance! Worth the peace of mind even if your fur baby never has an issue (which I hope is the case) :)

I have tried others in the past, but Healthy Paws really is the best. The big draw for them, aside from speedy claims, is that they don't raise rates as your pet gets older and they don't kick you off at a certain age. They're pretty responsive by email, also. No idea how they do it.

The mode of this company is to deny very claim. When I followed up on the last claim that say it was due to a wellness exam when clearly the invoice said VCA Emergency Animal Hospital. They are only a 911 center not a vet that would do wellness visits. After speaking with the rep he stated I need to send in the complete medical records for their review. They took this amount and applied towards my deductible. Now looking back at previous claims that were denied, I was so busy I missed it. I just emailed them as the last invoice was for a injury as well. These are types of companies that give insurance companies a bad name. The last pet insurance company I was with wonderful.
