Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

Unfortunately my dog seems to have genetically bad knees. He just went thru his third knee surgery in the last 2.5 years. I am sure I don't have to explain how expensive these surgeries are. It is a stressful time for me and my dog, but it is a comfort to know that Healthy Paws has our back. All the surgeries were covered without any question. For the most recent one I submitted the claim on Friday afternoon and by Tuesday morning the reimbursement money was already deposited into my account. Amazingly simple to submit the claims and super quick payment. Not much more I can ask for. I would recommend Healthy Paws to any pet owner.

My dog just got TPLO surgery. We got an appointment through our vet with a surgeon very quickly, in like 5 days. My vet told me that their front desk was very familiar with Healthy Paws, and also that they were a great company to be with. She was right! The front desk girl was out a few days and was only back at work the day before my dog's surgery. She was able to contact Healthy Paws and by the end of the day and several phone calls between myself, the vet and Healthy Paws, everything was in order for direct pay and I knew what my covered amount would be. I was amazed that they could get all this in order in just one day! It was incredibly organized and Healthy Paws also sent me several emails during the day to let me know the vet had contacted them and where we were in the process. I was very pleased with how quick and caring they were. I also got an email a few days after surgery from Healthy Paws asking how Phoebe was doing! I highly recommend them. I have the 90% Coverage after my deductible. I was hoping I never had to use this insurance, but I am so happy I did choose them! I also sent in some claims prior to this surgery and they handled them efficiently and were very pleasant to deal with.

If I can give zero star I would. Very slow processing if you ask for direct payment from the vet to them. My cat was very sick I have to apply for a loan from scratch pay to save my cat's life and took her to ER. I made multiple phone calls with them, they wouldn't get back to you unless you have to follow up. They only reached out on me when I canceled the policy. I have this pet insurance for almost 2 years will never get again they're not reliable in case of emergency they want you to pay upfront and reimburse I understand that's the protocol but what if the parents are tight of the budget? Wasted $23 dollars a month!! Never again

Then last month we had to take him in. We submitted the paperwork from the Vet and there was absolutely no issues with Healthy Paws. In fact we couldn't believe it was that easy and we got what was due back to us faster than could have been expected. Highly recommend!
