Healthy Paws has been a life saver for costs associated with caring for our rescue dog

My husband and I have two rescue dogs, Bear and Layla. Layla had had very few accidents and illnesses but Bear has more than made up for that! We would do anything to keep him healthy and happy, but we would go into debt taking care of him if not for healthy paws. We receive our claim reimbursement within a week of our initial cost and the team at healthy paws even reaches out to make sure he is doing well. I recommend pet insurance in general to all pet owners I know and healthy paws is definitely the best in my book!

Very happy with Healthy Paws

We are very happy with this insurance! Monthly premiums are very reasonable. Our cat recently had to have major leg surgery, and Healthy Paws covered the majority, which was a huge weight off our minds. Filing claims is very simple, and the turnaround time to receive claims checks is quick--his surgery was less than two weeks ago, and we already have the approved claim and check came in the mail. We highly recommend them to pet parents; they even emailed the week after Pip's surgery to see how he was doing. I wish insurance for people was this straightforward and easy to work with.

My dog had to get TWO TPLO surgeries…

I made the decision to get pet insurance for my puppy when she was under one year old and the reason why is because I never wanted to have to decide between money and possibly saving my dogs life. HealthyPaws insurance gave me the peace of mind that if anything ever happened to my dog I would always be able to help her without worrying about the cost of vet bills. At just 2 years old, sure enough my dog tore her CCL in both hind legs. That came out to around $8000 for both TPLO surgeries not including the visits I made to the specialist to figure out what was wrong with her. With HealthyPaws I received 90% of that back. Without HealthyPaws insurance I don’t think I would have been able to get the surgery done for her so soon and her limping was pretty bad so I’m grateful I was able to help her right away. HealthyPaws has always been quick to reimburse my claims (usually within a week) and the app is very easy to use. I usually get the itemized receipt emailed to me and then I just submit the receipt through email in the claims portal. I HIGHLY recommend them and also get insurance as soon as you can because they do not cover pre-existing conditions.

HP used to be AWESOME and I would…

HP used to be AWESOME and I would recommend it all the time. Recently they were bought out and it has become a real pain to make a claim: They always say part of the invoice was "obscured". I use their app, then I scan and resend a couple more times before it goes through. The coverage is good, but my rates doubled in one year. I still use them because any pre existing conditions would not be covered with new company. *in regards to their response: This happens on nearly every claim in the past year. This most recent invoice was missing the word “tax” but several times now they say “part of the invoice was obscured” I have sent as a jpeg, pdf and using their app.

So grateful and thankful for Healthy Paws…

So grateful and thankful for Healthy Paws Pet Insurance. We have had this policy since our dog was a puppy and are so thankful Healthy Paws is always there when we need them. We typically meet our deductible most years with our Bernese Mountain Dog, but most recently we had a scare with diarrhea/vomiting/loss of appetite/lethargy and refusal of water. His liver enzymes were > 3000 (normal is < 120). He was hospitalized for 4 nights and had his gallbladder removed. Healthy Paws covered 90% of our bill after meeting our deductible. We couldn’t be more thankful. Not sure what we would do without the insurance. Highly recommend without reservation! Thank you Healthy Paws!
