An ER visit and five nights in the…

An ER visit and five nights in the hospital saved our sweet little girl. She was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease which doesn't have a high survival rate...excellent care by the ER doctors saved her life. Treatment is ongoing and thankfully, we have pet insurance with Healthy Paws. Reimbursement has been speedy and the follow-up exceptional. I never expected an insurance company to ask how our girl was feeling. I highly recommend Healthy Paws!

If you are thinking about Pet Insurance... Look no further!

If you are thinking about Pet Insurance.... absolutely do it! You never know when you will need it. Our little kitty crew had a strange year with weird medical issues pop up. Healthy Paws has EXCELLENT coverage and was able to help us provide the absolute best high quality care to make sure our kitties have the smoothest recoveries. They also care and make it personal. One of our cats had to have tail surgery, and someone who viewed our claimed reached out to ask how our little girl was doing since surgery. We are very grateful for Healthy Paws!

Wouldn't recommend

They don't answer emails if you have a question. Didn't get a response until I told them I was cancelling, but they still ignored my original emails. If you are considering using this company, get your pet's exam done before signing up. It took me a while to get an appointment so I wasted the first month's payment. They don't mention you need this until after you open your account.

My dog tore both of his ACLs

My dog tore both of his ACLs, one in the spring and then the other shortly thereafter in the early fall. both times i simply uploaded the invoice from the surgeon to the healthy paws website and then received a reimbursement check in less than a week. it's an expensive surgery, especially to have twice, and i'm so glad i chose to get pet insurance and chose this company.

Monthly Cost

$15 – $80, depending on breed, zip code, age of pet and choice of deductible and co-pay.

Coverage

One plan covers accidents, illnesses, cancer, emergency care, genetic conditions, alternative care and more. You can choose a co-pay of 10%, 20%, 30% or 40%. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Payout Limits

No per incident, annual or lifetime pay-out limit.

Deductible

You can choose an annual deductible of $250, $500 or $750* *Choice depends on age of the pet

Age Limits

Pets must be at least 8 weeks old and under 14 years old at time of enrollment. Once enrolled, pets can stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Coverage begins 15 days after your policy starts. There is a 12-month waiting period for hip dysplasia claims.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Hereditary and congenital conditions are covered, however hip dysplasia is only covered in pets who enroll before they are 6 years old.
