Sincere, caring, true to their word - the best!

I have 2 rescue cats, who are now 4 & 5 years old. I had researched several pet insurance companies when they were kittens but could never make a decision because of all the confusing contractual jargon of what "might" be covered and more of what would not. This is the first company that clearly defines their policy. I called and spoke directly to the Claims Manager who patiently and willingly answered all my questions. I made my decision and purchased policies for both of my babies and so thankful I did. My little boy became surprisingly ill very shortly after. Since Healthy Paws had previously reviewed his records, his claims were processed quickly and with no hassle whatsoever. Even before his sickness, I had referred the Healthy Paws web links to friends, family, and co-workers with my recommendations. I will now be telling everyone I come in contact with who have furry family members, to look into and buy this protection for the peace of mind they deserve!

VERY fast service

When Luka sustained a bite to the face with a deep laceration near her eye, she required emergency treatment at a vet facility I've not used before. Healthy Paws said there is no problem with using a new facility, particularly during emergencies, and they promptly reimbursed me for the treatment. Thank you, Healthy Paws! Luka is healing up nicely and is feeling much better!

A Company with Integrity for a Change!

At first I was hesitant to go with a smaller company. But after diligent research and great referrals from a colleague, I insured my dog here and am so glad I did! I am an Animal Behavioral Biologist and author, and my darling dog who I adopted from the shelter, Ami, is literally going to be the main character in my next book! A few months after my insurance started (fortunately I bought it almost as soon as I got him, Ami - my star character - started to lose his fur and developed a related dermal/hormonal condition! Poor Ami and so much for my beloved star being naked - without his fur coat! Not to mention his discomfort and sensitivity to the cold. Well, Healthy Paws Pet Insurance took expert care of us and we finally got his skin and fur in healthy condition again! We weren't treated coldly and callously as the bigger companies do, and as long as they stay great, we will rave about them!

Outstanding plan and people

When my vet suggested pet insurance for my new puppy I had no idea how to select coverage. I reasearched on the internet and evaluated what each had to offer before deciding on Healthy Paws and what a great decision that turned out to be! My puppy has chewed and ingested several foreign objects which made him quite ill and required monitoring and numerous xrays from our vet. Healthy Paws responds within minutes to our claims and reimburses us within days of faxing the claim form signed by our vet. The coverage is fair and fast and most recently I received a follow up call to be sure my pet is feeling better. This plan far exceeds my expectations and I reccomend it without hesitation.

Extremely Disappointed

After searching long and hard for vet insurance, and reading more reviews than a can remember, I decided to go with healthy paws. I am extremely disappointed. I enrolled both of my dogs (F pitbull, Dutch and M pittbull mix, Duke) for coverage. I have never filed a claim with them until recently. My dog dutch ruptered her cruciate ligament. After paying 2,100.00 for surgery I decided pet insurance was a good idea. So when choosing healthy paws I read to make sure that it would be covered if she were to need any other surgeries or if her other knee needed surgery. According to their website it would not be considered a "pre-existing" condition because it was not genetic, but just an injury that occurs. Well when trying to get pre-approved, luckily I had not completed the surgery yet, they denied me. Now I have wasted money on this insurance which I could have been putting into a savings account. In my opinion, pet health insurance is a waste.
