Healthy Paws is the Best!!!

My husband insisted on getting insurance on our puppy. I looked into reviews for many of the pet insurance companies out there and based on reviews and price that Healthy Paws was the one for us. I am SO HAPPY we went with them. Not even 4 months after getting her insurance she tore her ACL. With vet bills and surgery it was over $3,000.00!!! It has only been 2 weeks and we have already received the reimbursement check for the surgery!! It would have been even quicker but I hadn't realized that our vet had not sent over all of her medical forms. After I submitted her bills online, which was SUPER EASY, I received an email stating that they were waiting on those forms. I called the vet to have the correct forms sent over then called Healthy Paws to let them know that they would be faxing them over. They said no problem and that it takes just a few days to be processed when faxed. Well a few days later I got another email saying that they still needed the medical forms. Frustrated, I called Healthy Paws to see what was wrong. Leslie and Erin were so nice and helpful. Even though it was probably very frustrating on their end they NEVER expressed any sense of annoyance with me. They actually said they would be happy to call the vet to tell them exactly what still needed. The next day I received an email that it was all being processed. A day after that I received the statement showing the breakdown on how they are reimbursing me and that the check was in the mail. I HIGHLY recommend Healthy Paws. Every single part of this process with them has been easy which is great because then we could concentrate on our baby and getting her better!!!!

The best pet insurance out there!!!!

My dog somehow got into rodenacide (rat poison) and became very ill. I immediately took her to the hospital and we began treatment to save her. The bill quickly became very high and thanks to healthy paws I didn't even have to think about it! I'll pay for the peace of mind to save our furry family member!!

Healthy Paws - Good Decision

Happy to report that Button, our rescue Yorkshire terrier, is on the mend and feeling his old perky self! Button had eaten a non-skid rug and within two weeks of this incident, he was in the animal hospital twice for vomiting, lethargy and diarreha. We were worried sick. According to the Vet at the animal hospital, the little guy seems to have a very sensitive tummy and can be allergic to any kind of food that flies -- so he banned from turkey, duck and chicken. We were very worried dog parents while he was recovering in the animal hospital--he was a very sick little guy. He is now on a very strict limited ingredient diet. I am so thankful to have the peace of mind of having Healthy Paws pet insurance. In my mind, I never wanted to make a decision for a sick dog (especially one with a lot of living ahead of him) based upon high veterinary costs and care. I have the 90% reimbursement (after a $500 yearly deductible) and the insurance does not cover Vet exams (small cost in my book). The Vet bill was over $1700 for once overnight stay with x-rays. In Button's care, having this insurance this was comforting when I was presented with a vet bill that could put a family into debt. Your reimbursement of the claim was prompt, and customer care is great. I have been talking to a lot of pet parents, and it seems that I made a good decision with Healthy Paws as health care insurance for my Button! This coverage will suit Button just fine for what I hope is a healthy long life ahead. Thank you again! Ann, Mark and Button

Great Service

Trey, our Boston Terrier developed a growth on his back and several smaller ones on his hind leg. Trey underwent successful surgery to remove the growths. I submitted my claim on Thursday. Healthy Paws processed the claim the same day and I had a check for 90% of the vet bill the following Monday. I have submitted several smaller claims and they are always processed in less than a week. Fantastic service from Healthy Paws.

Not much covered...

I had a dog that went in for a check up... Simply put they tried their very best to dump everything as preexisting conditions. Even though the conditions he had at the time of the visit displayed completely different sypmtoms. My dog had been brought in before with a swollen leg and Xrays were done. This time they did Xrays again, but he didn't have swollen legs, just a fever and lack of appetite. He was hospitalized and the total bill came out to be about $1,800. They were planning to send me a check for about $300. I asked for a detailed explanation of benefits as they were very vague about why they wouldn't cover certain items. The other reviewers on here maybe be hired or falsified. They only part of their story that is true is that they are quick with processing once they get the information they need. If this case works out and they decide to reimburse me for the correct amount, I will rewrite this review. As of now they are definitely not recommended.
