Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

I've had healthy paws since 2011 and it was by far the best insurance decision I've made for my fur baby.My pup is incredibly active and recently tore his Cruciate ligament.... a surgery costing several thousand dollars to correct. The surgeon the vet initially recommended had a horrible bed side manner, didn't spend any time with me or my pet to explain the operation and only gave me the least expensive option. Having Healthy Paws not only help eased the financial burden of this cost, but also gave me peace of mind to choose a qualified surgeon, who's fees were slightly more expensive, but well worth it in the long run as my pup is recovering nicely and according the surgeon, AHEAD of schedule. Having Healthy Paws allowed us to choose the best available care, they processed the claims in record time and they even followed up to check on his procedure. I wouldn't have a pet without this insurance to support my fur family. A++

Out of the blue at 10 months old my pup Beau became very sick. After many tests and blood transfusions Beau was diagnosed with IMHA. Fortunately I purchased Healthy Paws pet insurance when I got him at 12 weeks old. The bills kept racking up while the vet tried to stabilize Beau and without Healthy Paws I really don't know what kind of decisions we would have had to make. When I submitted the claims I expected a long claims process and I was already trying to arrange cash flow in a way to cover the growing bills while waiting for insurance to come through. Healthy Paws received the claim, processed it within 24 hours and had a check in the mail to me within 72 hours. No dispute over costs or covered vs not covered tests, etc. They've been absolutely as advertised and I'm incredibly grateful.

I love that it's very easy to submit claims using the app on my iPad. I also love that we get so much back on each claim without hassles. Our pet had a chronic infection that required several visits in 4 months and we didn't have to pay much out of pocket. In one month we saw the vet 10 times, so you can imagine how often we had to submit a claim. When the treatments weren't working we had to resort to a major surgery and having this insurance saved us so much money. We only ended up paying 200 dollars out of the 1,800. It was very sweet when healthy paws sent a follow up email checking up on my dog. I would highly recommend this insurance. You'll often see the check within 2 weeks of submitting so you won't have to worry about waiting forever to see the insurance money.

Overall I would say I've been a client for over 5 years total.Their reimbursement statements make more sense than my own health insurance, their checks are sent quickly, customer service is fantastic and coverage is straightforward. We will always have our pets insured with Healthy Paws. We had Healthy Paws with our previous dog who had to be put down after a terminal cancer diagnosis. Healthy Paws sent us a hand signed note of condolence for our loss. I can't tell you how many people we've told about this company - and the card they sent. When we adopted our next two dogs the first thing we did was call Healthy Paws to get them coverage.
