Outstanding company

My Brittany was a rescue dog,we got him when he was 2 years old. He is the best dog I ever had,a great little boy. Unfortunately he has some medical problems Epilepsy, Hypothyroidism and now Necrotizing pancreatitis all within the last two years. Healthy Paws has been very fast to settle a claim, they have never questioned a claim I have submitted. Without a doubt Healthy Paws is the best. If you are looking for insurance for your pet look no further.

Horrible

I wish I can give them 0. Sadly, my beautiful Pomeranian was really sick at the ER. After evaluation and treatment, he got better. We have healthy paws as his insurance since 2013. We have paid every month and never needed their services. The day that we actually needed them (after ED visit), they refused to pay examination fees! even in an ER setting! First, they made my claim process very difficult to submit and later, they refused to pay the majority and most expensive part of it. If your dog has to go to the ED, of course they need a physical examination in order to receive appropriate treatment, but Healthy Paws wont cover it. I love my dog, so I cancelled this insurance. I wont ever recommended to a responsible parent.

Healthy Paws is there when you need it!

When we bought our Bernese Mountain Dog, Brady, the breeder strongly recommended pet insurance. As he seemed so healthy I regrettably put it off while I did research on the major providers. After much research we decided on Healthy Paws but before the insurance became active Brady tore his ACL and developed a luxating patella. $3,500 later I was convinced of the value of pet insurance! This year at the age of two Brady was diagnosed with Wobbler's Disease which has required treatment by a neurosurgeon, MRIs and physical therapy. Healthy Paws has made it possible to get Brady the best treatment. The claims are paid quickly and questions are answered by a sympathetic and knowledgable customer service staff. We even get follow up emails from the company. I would highly recommend Healthy Paws with no reservations.

Awesome pet insurance company

I researched several different pet insurance companies when I got my new kitten, Thyme, about a month and a half ago. I combed through reviews and compared prices and benefits before deciding on Healthy Paws. They had great reviews and coverage compared to other companies, and from the reviews they seemed to really care about the pets. A few weeks later I got a new couch and Thyme found out he could jump to the mantle from the back of the couch. I had made a note to figure out a different arrangement in the living room to keep him from getting up there, but hadn't gotten around to doing it. The day after we got the couch Thyme went to jump down from the mantle, and got caught in the cords from the blinds that are next to the fireplace. I immediately knew he must have broken something because he was meowing in pain. When I took him to the vet I found out he had broken his front leg just below the shoulder joint and had to have a $3000 surgery to correct it. They said that without the surgery the leg would eventually have to be amputated. My vet referred me to an orthopedic surgeon, and they were able to do the surgery that day. I filed the claim for his initial visit that day(it was a Saturday), and filed the claim for the surgery itself the following Monday night after I brought him home. Both claims were approved by Tuesday afternoon, and I received the reimbursement checks by the following Saturday(a week after I submitted the first claim). I was amazed not only by the speed with which my claims were processed, but also with their concern for Thyme. I was very touched to receive an email from Healthy Paws checking on Thyme after his surgery. I have never heard of an insurance company checking up on a patient's well being after a claim. All of my future pets will be insured through them, as well, and I have been letting my friends and family know what a great company they are. To Healthy Paws: Thank you so much! I don't know what I would have done without you.
